Get in touchAnn Hoeger is a growth and transformation executive, fractional CMO, board advisor, and founder of The Golden Phoenix Group. For more than 25 years, she has helped companies find new sources of growth, sharpen their customer propositions, and turn insight into strategy, then strategy into results.
A classically trained P&G brand builder, Ann has held leadership roles, including CMO of an AI ergonomics assessment company, and advised businesses across consumer packaged goods, hospitality, pharma, healthcare, PE, and AI. Known for finding the signal in complex markets, she uses customer and consumer insight to uncover opportunity, align leaders around a shared vision, and develop the people who bring it to life. She stays current on how AI is reshaping the discipline through marketing AI communities and a hands-on AI build lab.
Her work includes launching Margaritaville at Sea in under five months, rolling up the marketing arm of seven life science companies, moving TRESemmé styling from No. 3 to No. 1, and leading more than 50 executive growth strategy sessions.
A PE firm acquired a distressed cruise line that needed to be repositioned and relaunched under the Margaritaville brand in under five months, with no defined consumer target, brand strategy, or marketing plan.
She assessed the marketing ecosystem, closed critical capability gaps, and aligned internal teams, agencies, and franchise partners around a single launch strategy, then defined the target and positioning and activated the campaign across every channel.
TRESemmé's styling business ranked No. 3 in its category, with positioning that had drifted and distribution, media, and product white space left untapped.
She identified a $50M distribution opportunity, built an omnichannel activation plan anchored to a Project Runway partnership, tightened targeting, and led new product launches against clearly defined white space.
A professional-only brand needed to launch into a crowded, mainstream CPG category, where it would have to work hard at shelf and in marketing to resonate with a new, unfamiliar audience.
She partnered with sales on retailer and shopper insights to shape breakthrough packaging, sharpened the target with brand and research teams, and aligned R&D, creative, PR, and digital partners against it.
COVID created urgent, category-defining demand for infection prevention. Medline needed a new offering built and launched across 9 divisions and thousands of products.
She ran cross-functional workshops with each division to define the target, customer journey, and marketing opportunities, then briefed more than 100 assets in partnership with sales, marketing, creative, agencies, and operations.
Full marketing leadership without the full-time hire. She owns the strategy and the team for as long as the mandate requires.
